Route 61 In Schuylkill County Reopens After Gas Line Break (Updated)

Route 61 between Frackville and St. Clair has reopened, PennDOT told Daily Voice Wednesday evening.

The highway was shut down on Tuesday morning, May 14 after a contractor accidentally struck a gas main during a reconstruction project, officials said.

Traffic was detoured to US 209, Route 901 and Interstate 81 while crews repaired the line.
